Eagles Summit Ranch is very hard to describe in words. You really don’t know what to expect when you first get there. It is a place where wounded warriors and their spouses can come and be with others that are experiencing the same realities. Once there, through the program you learn that, yes, something bad did happen, but it can be used to do so much more than bring sympathy from others. As Dave Roever says, “Scars are a universal language.” I say, yes they are, and there is not a person on this planet who doesn’t have a scar in one way or another. It just means I have a lot of people to talk with. My wife learned a great deal about herself and what she was made of, and me personally, I learned that I have more friends than I thought and that I have a great deal to offer the world. No longer do I have to wonder if the world is going to be kind because of what has happened, but rather hope that the world is ready for me, because I am coming full speed.”
