Colors of Fall

Posted on October 11th, 2017.

I love fall! I love it for so many reasons. It is the start of the holiday season, with the anticipation of cooler weather, family time and of course, pumpkin spice everything! I love to see the beautiful foliage as it changes colors, painting the landscape with the most gorgeous array, like paint on a canvas.
Fall signifies change.

Fall is a good reminder that we can also change. We can allow the Lord to look into our hearts and paint a new scene deep in our souls. Where there has been hurt and pain, He can cover it with the richest color of peace, leaving a masterpiece for others to see. Where we have brokenness and despair, His brush strokes of grace and mercy leave a work of art that is evident to those around us.

When we allow Christ to work in us as only He can do, the beauty that follows His handiwork shows a broken world that there is hope for their hopelessness. We become a beautiful hillside, studded with the richest evidence of Christ. Others will stop and admire. With amazement they will say, “Isn’t that beautiful?”
