Restoring the Wounded

Recently, a gentleman shared a story with me that touched me deeply. When his son was born, his heartbeat was extremely fast. The hospital had his baby’s body connected to multiple machines, monitoring every beat of his heart and other vital signs. They could not get his heartbeat regulated.

A nurse suggested he hold his son, laying him on his chest so that their hearts were beating next to each other. He leaned back in the rocking chair and happily followed her suggestion, tightly holding his son against his chest.

After some time, the little boy’s heart began to beat in rhythm with his Dad’s. Wow! What a moving story.

We have a Heavenly Father who wants our hearts to beat in sync with His. The closer we allow our hearts to get to His heart, we will notice a change. The things that affect His heart, will begin to affect ours. We will be stirred with a desire to win the lost; we will have compassion for the hurting; we will rejoice with others in their victories. Our hearts will beat in sync with His heart.

Love, Dave

My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes delight in my ways.
