Waves of Forgiveness
I have the honor of speaking at Schofield Barraks on Oahu, Hawaii. I love every opportunity to be with heroes who so willingly put their lives on the line for all of us. And it certainly doesn’t hurt my feelings that they are in Hawaii!
The beaches here are beautiful. God’s handiwork is everywhere. If you walk down to the beach, there is a lesson to be learned.
As the water recedes, you can draw something in the wet sand. Maybe your name, or a heart with your sweetheart’s name inside. Whatever you choose to write, one thing is certain, it won’t stay there long. In a matter of seconds, the next wave rushes the coastline and all evidence of what you’ve written is gone.
Have you figured out the lesson? Christ does the same for us. When we are forgiven, our sins are gone, forgotten, never remembered against us again. We can keep bringing it up, but every time we do, His blood covers it and washes it away.
Step out into the water and live in the freedom He gives. Quit sitting on the beach rewriting all your wrongs.
And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins.
