“Just went to see Dave speak again today at Fort Shafter. More amazing every time I hear him.”

“I have to admit, first meeting Dave was hard. He is a burn victim, wounded in Vietnam, but after just saying hello I didn't see the scars from his burns, I only saw a man. We all must have talked for about 2 hours and just the talking alone made me feel like a human being again. As we talked I kept looking up into the hills at the woods. As a Scout the woods used to be my home and for the past 6 years all I've done is urban and desert. So I excused myself and said I'm gonna go for a walk in the woods. I don't have the words to describe how that lifted my spirits. Just me and nature. It brought back feelings I hadn't felt in a long time and I started to smile. Not the fake smile that I usually pass off on everyone, but a genuine good feeling that caused a genuine smile. So this was basically the first three hours on the first day and already I was feeling pretty lucky I got to go there

I was a guest at the Eagle Summit Ranch in Colorado while I was in the Ft. Carson WTU. I am proud to say that I was saved by you personally and the whole experience of my week there has changed my life. I do, as most do, have set backs occasionally, but your program gave me the very important tools needed to keep going on. My wife and I have four children and have been married for almost 10 years now. That seems like a great accomplishment in itself. I am thankful for my family, and I am thankful that I had the opportunity to be a part of such a great organization. Love you guys!
