Construction Zone

Posted on March 24th, 2017.

As this is being written, I am traveling home from an 11 day trip and many miles of highway are being covered.

As I sit and watch the road before me, I notice something consistently. There are portions of the road that are smooth as silk. Other sections are rough, filled with potholes, uneven lanes, and grooves so deep this vehicle could get lost inside. There are also areas of road construction that slow us down to a snail’s pace. Then all of the sudden, it smooths out again.

The rough areas can’t be made smooth without a little roadwork.

One thing I know is that if we stay on this road, no matter its condition, we will make it to our destination.

Life is exactly the same. You will encounter smooth times, rough patches and potholes. You’ll even have to endure some “construction” along the way, while being formed into the image of Christ. But hold steady! Keep your eyes on the road ahead! With Christ in the driver’s seat, He will get you through everything you face and you will safely arrive at your destination.

God will make this happen, for He who calls you is faithful.
1 Thessalonians 5:24
